Longer wire runs or finished walls push it to $1,500–$3,500, and the charger itself adds $500–$1,200. Most homeowners land between $1,500 and $3,000 all-in.

Sometimes. A 48A charger uses a big share of a 100A service, so it depends on your other loads — we run a load calculation to check. If capacity is tight, a load-management device often avoids a panel upgrade; otherwise we upgrade to 200A ($3,200–$4,500) at the same time.

A Level 2 charger (240V, 40–48A) adds roughly 40–70 km of range per hour — a full charge overnight. A standard 120V outlet adds only 6–8 km per hour. For anyone driving daily, Level 2 is the practical choice, and overnight ultra-low electricity rates make it cheap to run.
